Diplomat Ireland was established in 2009 by Michael Mulcahy and John X. Miller. At that time Michael served as Honorary Consul of Poland and John served as Honorary Consul of Hungary. There was no dedicated media resource that focused on the diplomatic sector in Ireland and Michael and John felt the need to establish a resource that would support and promote the Embassies and Consulates that had diplomatic relations with Ireland as well as support the Irish Government in its global diplomatic policy. The Island of Ireland consists of two jurisdictions and Diplomat Ireland supports the Ireland and Northern Ireland jurisdictions independently and collectively when necessary.

The Publisher & CEO of Diplomat Ireland is Michael Mulcahy. Michael has served as Honorary Consul of Poland in Ireland and is now Honorary Consul Emeritus having retired from the role. Michael founded Diplomat in 2010 with his Honorary Consul colleague John X. Miller.
