New Year, New you – Tackle Climate change with a #2minutebeachclean\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s not too late to pick a New Year\u2019s resolution: Clean Coasts are asking people in Ireland to request a kit and do their bit for our marine environment\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Clean Coasts is calling all the people in Ireland whose New Year\u2019s resolution for 2022 is to be greener and help tackle climate change to choose a resolution they can commit to by pledging to do a #2minutebeachclean.<\/p>\n

Last week, Clean Coasts released a video produced by Clean Coasts and Cube Media, starring Bryan Quinn who plays Dave, a person trying to go into 2022 being better and greener by being more conscious of the environment.<\/p>\n

The campaign\u2019s aim is to let people know that they don\u2019t need to commit to a huge New Year\u2019s resolution that they may not be able to sustain until the end of the year to make a difference. A #2minutebeachclean is an easy pledge to make that is flexible, doable and can be built on as your green year moves forward.<\/p>\n

In only a week, 100 #2minutebeachclean kits were requested and over 200 people in Ireland already engaged in the campaign. To take part in the #2minutebeachclean, simply take two minutes to pick up some litter you see, share a picture of it on social media, tag Clean Coasts, use the hashtag #2minutebeachclean and dispose of the litter properly.<\/p>\n

Sinead McCoy, Coastal Communities Manager\u202fsaid; \u201cThe #2minutebeachclean is such a great initiative to get involved in.\u202fEvery day, so many people around Ireland share their #2minutebeachclean on social media, and that helps show how easy it is to get involved and make a difference.\u202fBy taking part, not only do you make an immediate positive impact for the marine environment and wildlife, but\u202fit\u2019s\u202falso a chance to spend time outdoors by the sea,\u202fexercise and even practice mindfulness.\u201d<\/p>\n
