Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Defence, Simon Coveney T.D., attended a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels, along with his European counterparts.
Foreign Ministers discussed a range of current foreign policy issues, including the EU’s engagement with the Western Balkans and the Sahel regions, recent developments in Ethiopia and Sudan, and the ongoing situation in Belarus. Over the course of the day, EU Foreign Ministers also participated in a Ministerial Meeting of the Eastern Partnership and in a joint meeting with EU Defence Ministers to discuss the Strategic Compass initiative.
